Cntrl: Beyond EDM returns @ South by Southwest for a special one-off date!

On March 13th, both Richie Hawtin (official page) and LOCO DICE (official page) will curate a line-up that broadens the electronic spectrum further, bringing together SXSW artists including Tiga, plus DJ sets from Canadian electronic act AZARI & III and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. The event is opened by Matthew Hawtin and Ean Golden (Fan Page) (founder of DJ Tech Tools).

This is an official SXSW event and entry is strictly for SXSW badges and wristbands, with very limited tickets on the door (subject to capacity)!

Loco Dice Signs Off From The CNTRL: Beyond EDM Tour

After more than two weeks on the road, an amazing tour comes to an end – at least it does for me anyway...

Cntrl: Beyond EDM was my third US bus tour, this time with Richie. Of course I knew what our mission was, but I really didn’t know what to expect. A lot of energy and passion were poured into this tour, and I'm glad we were able to accomplish so much during the past few weeks. I got great support from an amazing team of people, which in a short time became a very close-knit family.

I really loved meeting and interacting with all the students and being in the environments where we did the lectures. I’m a European guy; I only know college from TV and movies, so there was something special about being there and talking to students who have their entire futures ahead of them. It was an honor to be there and have the opportunity to talk about the scene I'm representing. Sharing the love, the technology and the history gave me so much energy and motivation. It was also great to see so many old colleagues and friends along the way, and meeting new ones who have now also become my friends.

Naturally I am sad to be leaving the tour and the crew, but I am also very happy. This does not mean an end, or that a chapter has closed. I'm pretty sure that with CNTRL we inspired many people - new and old, and I’m confident that the CNTRL team will continue on with their mission.

Thank so you much to everyone beside AND behind the stage who made this all happen day in and day out, building it all every day with a lot of power and force.

And of course… thank YOU. All of you, especially those who came out to make incredible moments with us on this tour, thank you so much.

Due to a number of circumstances beyond our control, we are no longer able to live broadcast today's lecture from Necto Voltage in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Richie Hawtin Presented with the Key to the City of Windsor

In an incredible moment at the University of Windsor, Richie Hawtin was presented with the key to the city of his hometown of Windsor, Ontario by Mayor Eddie Francis. This marks a momentous occasion not only for Richie, but for the electronic scene as a whole.

“His successes are significant,” Mayor Francis said before giving Hawtin the framed ceremonial key. “He’s the best at what he does worldwide. Being the best at what he does, he has been able to position the City of Windsor well. He has been a successful ambassador to the city. And he continues to inspire a younger generation.”
